Uno degli ultimi giorni di questo viaggio ci siamo dedicati ad una bellissima avventura

visitando le Everglades.

Spalle scottate, zaino, crema protettiva e occhiali da sole.. eccoci di nuovo sulla Jeep diretti verso qualcosa di davvero inaspettato, siete curiosi?? Intanto forse vi dovrei spiegare di cosa si tratta.

Dunque, ci troviamo precisamente all' Everglades National Park. Si tratta di una meraviglia subtropicale, designata "Eredità Mondiale" e " Riserva della biosfera", ha un valore unico riconosciuto in tutto il mondo.

Gli Everglades sono un corso d' acqua chiamato il Fiume d'Erba, ha origine a sud di Orlando nel Kisseemmee River Basin, questo fiume scorreva attraverso il famoso Lago Okeechobee fino a giungere al mare. Gran parte degli Everglades sono stati modificati dall'intervento umano, l'intera zona è grande ben due volte il Lussemburgo; è stata mantenuta per le generazioni future dalla popolazione degli Stati Uniti e gli è stato dato il nome di Everglades National Park.

Nel 1992 la zona è stata colpita dal ciclone Andrew che ha causato molti cambiamenti, anche se la natura ha la stupefacente capacità di riprendersi velocemente, per un determinato periodo non tutte le strutture costruite dall' uomo sono state a completa disposizione, anche se i lavori sono stati portati avanti il più velocemente possibile.

Sinceramente non so se ancora ci sono delle strutture in ricostruzione, ma noi non le abbiamo incontrate.

In tutto il parco potete trovare guardie forestali pronte ad aiutarvi nei centri turistici, al fine di organizzare al meglio la vostra visita.

Il centro turistico principale si trova 17 km a sud ovest di Homestead sulla Route 9336, troverete in vendita per esempio libri e creme contro le punture di insetti.

Il BIRDWATCHING è molto praticato grazie alla grande quantità di uccelli presenti, sono state registrate più di 300 specie.

I sentieri possono variare, per passeggiate più facili o più difficile, rispettivamente dai 400 metri ai 24 chilometri; mentre i sentieri in bicicletta variano dai tre ai 24 km e le potrete affittare al negozio Flamingo Marina Store e a Shark Valley.

I giri in idrovolante non sono permessi nel parco in quanto spaventano gli animali e rovinano moltissimo la vegetazione.

Potrete scegliere tra numerosi sentieri, percorsi per canoe e punti di osservazione e probabilmente non saprete da che parte cominciare tanto c' è da vedere.

Se poi decideste di fermarvi potrete usufruire di campeggi o altri tipi di alloggi, tuttavia durante l'estate l' elevato numero di zanzare può rendere il campeggio un' esperienza poco piacevole.

Throughout the park you can find rangers in the tourist centers ready to help, to organize better your visit.

Sappiate che quando entrerete in questo parco vi troverete a casa della moltitudine di specie che abitano la zona, siete ospiti di questi animali che seppur in liberatà, molto vicini a voi tanto che vi possono raggiungere in ogni momento anche gli alligatori (non sarete separati da loro), non sono tuttavia animali domestici. Così, come vi avvertiranno anche le guardie forestali, non infastiditeli, non dategli da mangiare ( è assolutamente vietato e incorrereste in multe fino a 500 dollari ).

La particolarità di questi uccelli bianchi che mi ha colpito particolarmente era il colore intorno agli occhi, sempre di una sfumatura un pò diversa dall' esemplare precedente; questo qui aveva un meraviglioso verde acceso!!

Tutte le piante e gli animali del parco sono protetti, ci sono anche alcune piante e serpenti velenosi che però normalmente non danno alcun tipo di problema, fatevi indicare la loro ubicazione e i tipi presenti dalle guardie forestali.

Le zanzare soprattutto nei mesi più caldi sono molto presenti, così vi si suggerisce di indossare pantaloni lunghi e camice a maniche lunghe, ricordate che si tratta sempre di zone paludose!

E' anche consigliato usare repellenti acquistabili nel parco stesso.

E' vietato fumare nei sentieri e nei campeggi all' interno è permesso utilizzare solo fornelli autonomi.

Come potete vedere qui sopra nella foto c'è una parte di terra che ha la funzione di dividere le zone nel caso in cui una delle due parti sia colpita da incendio, ma mi raccomando fate attenzione, è una riserva determinante per la vita animale e vegetale di questo territorio.

Ed ecco a voi un piccolo ladruncolo, il corvo che vedete nella foto aveva rubato una pacchetto di patatine ancora chiuso ad una bambina, che pure essendo rimasta inizialmente spiazzata dall' avvenimento, ne ha riso tantissimo di lì a poco!

Arrivati nel punto più a sud della Florida abbiamo pensato fosse il caso di contemplare il paesaggio e magari riposarci un pò!

Ormai la partenza si stava avvicinando, ma mancava ancora un pò di tempo e visitando questo simpatico centro commerciale ho visto davvero tantissime cose, dalla macchina per il peluche ai tanti negozi diversi e un ottimo pranzo!!! :D

The departure was approaching, but there was still some time and we visited this nice shopping center, I saw an amazing amount of things, from the machine for stuffed animals to beautiful styles of fashion to many different shops and fine dining! : D

Pomeriggio in spiaggia, seduta in riva con i piedi sul bagnoasciuga, con le onde che li bagnavao, a disegnare e fotografare ancora un pò; poche ore e saremmo tornati a casa.

Afternoon at the beach, sitting on the shore with my feet in the water, with little waves, drawing and photographing a little longer; a few hours and we would return home.

Un altro saluto ai nostri amici e un'altra colazione alla luce splendente del sole riflessa sul mare, e poi valige alla mano ed eccoci dirigersi verso il rientro.
